Our insurance brokers can help you out if you’re having trouble. Here are some of the factors that contribute to determining your motorcycle insurance rates:

  • Your motorcycle coverage options

Why Motorcycle Insurance?

Whether it’s your first time buying coverage for a new motorcycle or you are looking to renew your current motorcycle insurance, you should be conscious of what your policy includes.  If you are having trouble, a broker is always available to help go over the details of your insurance. They can review the fine print with you.

Motorcycle insurance is important because it guarantees bike riders a financial security net if their vehicle is damaged or destroyed. Motorcycle insurance also helps to protect riders from major costs in the event of a potential future loss. After all, it’s a small cost in exchange for peace of mind. If the unthinkable happens, you want to know you’re properly insured.

Motorcycle Safety Tips

The best means to getting cheaper motorcycle insurance rates is by practicing safe riding. One way to get discounts on your insurance rates, particularly if you’re a new rider, is by taking a motorcycle training course. This can help set you up with good habits from the get-go as well, and lessen your overall risk of being involved in an accident or a collision. Maintaining a good driving record is a sure-fire way to ensuring that you’re in the best possible standing for when it comes to your insurance. Here are some ways for you to keep safe while riding your bike:

  • Wear the right gear. Protective gear, a helmet and face shield (or protective eyewear) and reflective equipment so that drivers can see you easily are necessities for safe driving. Gloves and boots with non-skid soles are also useful to protect you from injuries.
  • Obey the traffic rules. Acclimate yourself to the traffic rules where you live and be conscious of speed limits. Moreover, new riders should be aware of how riding a motorbike can be different from driving a car on B.C. roads.
  • Drive sober, aware and awake. Fatigue is just as bad when it comes to impairing your ability to make proper decisions as drunk driving. Make sure that you are sober and well rested for when you hit the road to reduce risk to yourself and others.
  • Maintain proper upkeep of your bike. Check your tires regularly, test to see if your lights are fully functional, and assess your hydraulic and coolant flaunts as often as possible. You should ensure your brakes, horn, clutch and mirrors are fully functional prior to riding. This lessens your risk of motorcycle breakdown while on the road.
